EVENT: The First 100 Years of Western Costume

Last night the Costume Council hosted a celebration of The First 100 Years of Western Costume at LACMA. I was lucky enough to be invited by Louise of Louise Green Millinery (that's where our amazing hats are from, if you were wondering). A private affair in honor of the magic that happens when your vintage collection grows to be 7 miles long. With just 60 employees, Western Costume has managed to dress every major Hollywood actor and actress in the biz, and they keep it feeling like a family. That's pretty impressive feat when you have Hollywood films, and TV shows knocking down your door for 50's garb all at the same time, and you're willing and able to oblige!

We heard from a short panel of speakers including the president of Western Costume, then enjoyed a melodrama that highlighted the most iconic ensembles through the years. Following the show, we had the unbelievable opportunity to be up-close and personal with all the models wearing the priceless duds!

Below are some quick snaps I took from the evening. Guests and models alike pulled out all the stops when it came to decorating themselves with tassel earrings, chunky bangles, star motifs, world traveler baubles... to name a few. Simply put... the jewels were TO DIE FOR. More on the designer coming soon!

Still in dream land,
