THE IDEA
Bubbling up in the contemporary market, shark teeth are becoming the IT shape in pendants, charms, and silhouettes. The tribal trend has taken over our accessories, and the triangular shape of the tooth feels authentic and up to the moment. Recently there has been spotlight on this particular member of the animal kingdom, and it fitting that socially conscious tastemakers would show their support by means of fashion and accessories.
HOW TO STYLE
Shark tooth silhouettes on rings and necklaces are dramatic (Bernard Chandran runway+ House of Waris), while charms placed on top of friendship bracelets with gems feel innocent (Sara Beltran). Using colors other than white, like black or green, have are perfect for the junior market, and dipping the tooth in liquid gold is sophisticated and a popular way to finish natural materials (Heather Hawkins). Placing the tooth upside down (MKA) is a fresh and can be interpreted as a social statement.
