The Resort '13 runways are splattered with collage motifs. Pieced and patchwork styles reign supreme for an abstract, boho look. Like many designers, when I think of resort, I think of globe trotting to distant places. This graphic style evokes a sense of culture when layering specific designs over one another. It's a print and pattern ikebana and key in the overarching Interior Motives trend.
HOW TO STYLE
Arrange photo realistic patterns in origami formations (Prabal Gurung). Quilting is approachable (Erdem), while abstract overlays of large scale florals are forward (Preen). Most often seen on clothing, but there is a wide range of possibilities for the accessories market. The first image is a design mash up of a collaged pendant (Proenza Schouler) hung from a choker length rope (Jaclyn Mayer) with metal hardware and closure.
